When we started to plan this route, I thought that, here in Teruel, we’d be around 6 – 8 people. Who could imagine that we should close the list to avoid going out of control.
It’s completely clear that there are more and more of us who share this philosophy, this way of biking, and I loved seeing that all it took was a little digging and a lot of people appeared.
Cuando empezamos a planear esta quedada, pensaba que, aquí en Teruel, seríamos como mucho entre 6 y 8 personas. Quién iba a imaginar que finalmente tendríamos que cerrar el grifo para que esto no se fuera de las manos.
Está claro que cada vez somos más los que compartimos esta filosofía, esta forma de ver la bici, y me ha encantado ver que solo hacía falta «rascar» un poco para que aparezca un montón de gente.
All of us share the same values about conservation, sustainability, and a growing awareness of the demographic situation of this area, also main values of MontañasVacías. Attract people, yes, but not at any cost.
Todos nosotros compartimos unos valores de conservación, de sostenibilidad, y una creciente concienciación sobre la situación demográfica de esta zona, valores que también son los principales de esta locura que es MontañasVacías. Atraer gente, sí, pero no a cualquier precio.
So I thank all participants, for being as you are, for teaching me so much, and for getting through both the logistic and orographic difficulties to reach and ride Teruel (even though 50% of the route was all down).
Así que gracias a tod@s los presentes, por ser como sois, por enseñarme tanto, por aguantar las dificultades logísticas para venir a Teruel, y las orográficas para pedalear por ella (a pesar de que el 50% de la ruta fuera todo bajada).
I’d also like to highlight that 17 of the 42 participants were women, a spectacular fact! I’d never been in an event with such a ratio, we’re on the right direction!
All this encourages us to organice more meetings, there will be more, sure, and it is so long to wait till next year!! See you soon!!
También quiero destacar el hecho de que 17 de los 42 participantes fueran mujeres, un dato espectacular! Yo nunca había asistido a un evento con un ratio similar, vamos por buen camino!
Todo esto nos anima a que esta no sea la última quedada, habrá más, y se me hace muy largo esperar hasta el próximo año. Nos vemos pronto!
