Magical things that happen in MV.
Last year, during one of those two or three-day trips to explore a trail, a link, or a Teruel mountain range I hadn’t yet pedaled, I found myself in the Cuencas Mineras area. A few days later, after sharing some photos without mentioning the exact location, the great Dani Gómez recognized some of the spots. He wrote to me and shared his intention: to create a bikepacking route that would link some of the most outstanding places in the Cuencas Mineras and Andorra – Sierra de Arcos regions in Teruel.
While it is always motivating for me to keep researching and discovering new areas to create new loops, the pride I feel is even greater when those who truly know a place decide to pull the thread that may have been circling in their heads for years to bring these projects to life.
Because in the end, it is them—the real experts of an area—who are the best conductors for a project like this. That is the magic of these projects. Created by cyclists for cyclists. By local experts for the world. Without the pressure of adhering to a budget, a grant, or a balance sheet of expenses. That is the authentic magic of all this. Sincere, simple, direct, powerful magic. And it’s not just carried out by those who design (or we design) these routes, but by everyone who pedals and experiences them.
So, I leave you with La Corraliza:

Thank you so much, Dani, for all the hard work behind this. May the magic never fade.
