Started in Teruel. The bus transfer from Valencia ended up being no problem at all, even on a Saturday evening.
After climbing the Javalambre we hit that amazingly well-stocked petrol station, then took the Vía Verde Ojos Negros down to Valencia. Though a few construction sites forced detours, and the strong wind chipped away at our idea of not having to pedal for the next 60k. Haha.
We’re still buzzing from it all. The landscape, the emptiness, barely any shops anywhere. And then these warm people in the bars, the few little shops, the hostels along the way. Our 2 nights at El Mirador de las Tejadas in Alobras felt so good. And waking up to the monthly craft market under the old tree the next morning? So cool.
The Tajo was crystal clear and ice cold, even at the end of June. Crazy beautiful.
Just getting out of Teruel took forever because we couldn’t stop taking photos.
And the three refugios we visited (Portera, Alconera, Buey). Perfect places to end long days.
Thank you for the memories and this crazy nice track.
First thing when back in Berlin: getting the MV patches on the frame bags.
